I considered about his personality and his situation, his boss is grumpy, so I think he shouldn’t very confident. Because generally, a confident person will leave the company when they suffer the boss’s shouting. Because they have enough confidence in their ability and they can find another job and a better boss, they don’t have to endure the terrible boss. But if a person who doesn’t have enough confidence, they won’t leave the company because they are afraid that they can’t find another job, so they will endure the boss’s shouting.
But Yasmin said: in the scene that he is in, the main character will be the un-confident person in that situation. I would like the characters around her to seem confident and good at their jobs in order to highlight her situation.
